Common questions
How long is a rabbit pregnant?
About 31 days. Most does give birth between day 28 and day 32.
Does gestation length vary by breed?
Only slightly. Small breeds with small litters tend to run a day or so longer than large breeds with big litters, but all fall in the 28 to 32 day window.
When should I put the nest box in?
On day 28. Put it in sooner and she may use it as a toilet. Leave it later and she may give birth on the cage floor.
What if my doe has not kindled by day 35?
She is probably not pregnant. Call a vet if she seems unwell or is straining; otherwise she can be rebred.
